Virginia Anderson spent nearly 20 years within Fortune 500 companies, observing and participating in what works and what doesn’t work, seeing the good, the bad, and the ugly. She has honed her managerial accounting skills to provide growth companies with optimized processes; for it is her firm conviction that a growth company can have the same accounting functionality that large corporations have, at a fraction of the time, money, and effort.
A graduate of Auburn University (1991) with a Master’s Degree in Accountancy, and specialization in Managerial and Financial Reporting, she began her career as an Internal Auditor for Regions Financial Corporation and obtained her Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation. She then turned her focus to the world of Financial Planning and Analysis within a number of US Fortune 500 Companies. During this time, she gained experience in financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, strategic planning, M&A due diligence and post-M&A integration. In 1996 she obtained and has maintained her Certified Public Accounting (CPA*) license #7762 from the Alabama State Board of Accountancy. After which, she entered the telecommunications world as a Finance Manager with Lucent Technologies.
In 2002, she was drawn to Montreal by its cultural diversity and reputation as the Silicon Valley of the North. She once again looked to telecom to satisfy her thirst for a creative, innovative, and resourceful environment. She is one of the few people that have walked the halls of both Lucent and Nortel, and is able to make first hand comparisons.Today, she speaks to CEOs and CFOs of Montreal’s tech community, by tapping into her industry knowledge and leveraging her experience, to shed a spotlight on the accounting process black box and drive processes that save time, money, and effort.
*As a point of clarity, she is not a Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) with the Quebec Ordre of Accountants.
